Hello All,
This probably the forum to be on while sculpting this pair. The Kapok lined coat on the driver is underway.having seen one of these coats ,they are like cardboard to the feel(the one I saw was unissued however). So it is important to get the heavy look of this overcoat.
The passenger will wear a Sheepskin coat(No sheep jokes please)which is in progress.
Comments welcome.
Andy

Coats looking very bulky Andy.
Surprised hasn't been more comments on this work.
What's the basis for the jeep?

Mike

Hi Mike,
Things have gone quiet with the comments however I,ve been busy in the shed with more progress so far.
The large spaces of the stowge at the back is being worked in,packs, rolls ,tarps ,etc are added.Trying to keep thinks crisp is the aim here.
The white piece of plastic between the two will be a Thompson with round drum.
Still some more dunnage to add to the front along with condensor and various bits. There is the freedom of adding equipment as you like because crews suited the layout of the stowage to themselves.
Comments welcome.
Andy

Hi Mike,
A slight alteration being a change of Jeep kitsets.Apparently hasegawa Jeep kit is OOP.But Italeri have a nice alternative so with the crew still in construction it wont need much altering to fit.
Cheers
Andy

Great looking figures, Andy - nicely posed, and they'll make a great set when placed on a jeep.
I like the fact they're rugged up against the cold desert nights too, instead of in the usual tropical uniform.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for thy comments.I thought the winter look in the desert might be more appealing owing to the diversity of the dress available for this season.
Cheers
Andy

Lovely work Andy, your troopers look real, as if they were proper desert warriors! Love their heavy "winter" gear. When I worked in the Saudi desert I had a heavy fur jacket which the boys laughted at, before the winter set in.When I left they were fighting over it. People dont seem to understand just how cold it gets at night in the desert.
Super job indeed.

Don

Hello All,
Over the halfway mark with this project.Although the stowage looks fairly basic, there needs to be some sort of composition with various shapes to tie the whole thing in.
There are a couple of captured Italian items such as water bottle and gas mask container(pressed into other service).
This kit is now built on the Italeri Willys jeep and Im not sure if Hasegawa are re-releaseing their jeep in 1/24 also.Anyway the kit should be compatable with both brands if thats the case.
Ray, this will be commercial eventually.
Comments welcome.
Andy

Hello again,I am going nuts over this subject,I love the the new updates. Any chance of a lewis gun or a thompson 1928 in the future. Thanks for your time Andy, Ray Mootset

Hello again, great work, as I am getting older larger scale is becoming more appealing to me. Do you have any more plans for 75mm subjects, I am a big fan of anything from North Africa, please keep them coming. Ray

Keith,Ray,Gells,
Thanks for your comments.A 1928 Thompson has been made for this kit and willbe part of the stowage,so you wont see it too well, only the barrel will be visible.
Cheers
Andy
