A Fixture
MacBETH/Scots King
I FINALLY got this figure finished. What I needed was to find just the right thing for the shield design as I wanted it to look properly Celtic. This was resolved after my recent trip to Scotland and Ireland, where I visited Trinity College and saw the Book of Kells. So the animals on the shield are taken from that ancient book (or more accurately from the souvenir picture book I picked up in the gift shop). I also hoped to get the ground work just right by adding the thorny yellow bushes that were everywhere I went in Scotland this past April.
I modified this figure ever so slightly by switching the shield from his right to his left hand. As I am no sculptor, I thought it would be best to give him a spear as opposed to trying to sculpt his hand grippping the sword. That's the story. Please forgive the poor quality photos, I am breaking in a new camera (at least that's the excuse I will go with this time around).
Many Thanks to Tony Dawe, without whose generosity and patience, this figure would still be in a box somewhere. Thanks mate!
Cheers
Glenn
