This is my first post to the forum so please excuse any lapse in etiquette. These pics are of my repaint of the 1:10th scale Kotobukiya Magik statue from ArtFX+. I picked this up as a kind of experiment in repainting comic book characters, inspired by John Ficchi of Vince Vell Customs. To that end, this is a total repaint of the statue – I pulled it apart, repainted everything, and added the custom base. My goal was to add more achieve a neater, more detailed paintjob than the original. In the end, I’m not certain if this experiment was worth the final results. I really like how the flesh came out and I think I improved getting a life-like tone. However, the overall impression from the figure is nearly identical to the original paint job and I’m not sure a casual observer familiar with the piece would realize mine is a custom repaint. However, it’s hard to argue with finishing up a figure of this scale in just over a week, so I guess I can’t be too upset. If anyone out there has thoughts, I’d love the hear them. Thanks for looking!
