Magnifying light advice wanted

Can anyone recommend a good but economic magnifying light? I was thinking about this one from Maplin.

Or would a visor tyoe be better?

My personal opinion is that a visor is better. I am always catching the light with paintbrushes etc and it does not give the freedom of movement that a visor does. A bit too restrictive for me but others may disagree.

I've just had the same discussion with my son in law who has now borrowed my Optivisor to see if he can manage with it. It is my preferred choice as it gives complete freedom of movement. I have a large magnifier lamp in my summer house that I use for clean up but I wouldn't paint with it.

An optivisor with built-in lights seems to be the best compromise. The lights illuminate what you're looking at and the magnifying glasses make it possible to see even the smallest parts.

Thanks Tony, I think that's definitely the way forward.

I use the optivisor from the photo and a daylight lamp. The optivisor had the possiblity that you can adjust him for your eyes.

I wear specs as well, so I need the headband type that goes over glasses. But I think a visor and seperate lamp is going to be the best way.
