Hello...

RPmodels have the pleasure to present Major Blondie Hasler... We do a big effort to produce this figure in the beginning of December, but Infortunally, we did have chance to do it. We will lauch this work in January of the next year...

You will se the real resin master model... He will go to resin casting in a few days... This is a Limited Edition of 200 pieces.

Next you have the chance to see the full canoe in 75mm and 1/35... You see the all the details on... You see the Bill Sparks is higher, because in the reallity he is bigger that Blondie... And with that little detail, I think the piece is much better...

In the beginning I was thinking to produce just 200 pieces, but I have so many reserves and orders, that I will produce 300 pieces Limited Edition. I think I dont habe pieces for all people, but I prefer work with Limited Edition... The 1/35 Scale dont have any Limit...

Hi Hugo ,

Thanks for sharing , love the textures and facial work on all pieces and even though busts are my thing the full canoe looks great , as Bill Sparks was a larger man if it's put into a seascape the canoe will sit slightly lower in the water at the back ...adding something even more to the dynamics.

A good end to 2015 and a great start to 2016 for RP Models ...the company that listens to all .

Thanks for sharing

Hello Peter...

I wish we can do better, and lauch this one in begining of December... It would be a fantastic Christmas Gift... But infortunally, with all tests and experiences for catcth a high detail in 75mm and 1/35, we have a big delay... But I prefer a delay and the final result will be outstanding, then lauch the model, and quality is poor... But in January, it will be in the market, so I just ask a little patience, my friend...

Thank you.
Regards
Hugo

I had the honour of meeting Bill Sparks on several occasions , as I was at school with his son, Terry, a good classmate friend of mine. We were in the school band together, I played trumpet, Terry was on drums. Bill came to the school to give us a talk once, on his experiences. One of our masters had been in the Commandos, though not in the Cockleshell Heroes. A very modest man, with a terrific sense of humour. This figure is a great likeness, as I remember him. Very well done (y)(y)

Alan

Alan ,

What an honour that must have been , great to know we have got the likeness right on the model ...a mark of RP's respect for all the Commando's past and present .

Thanks for looking in

Thought this would be of interest from the RM Museum
70 years ago today 6 canoes were unloaded from submarine HMS Tuna near the mouth of the Gironde River in France.

Thus began Operation Frankton. Their mission to paddle 57 miles up an enemy held river to attack the port of Bordeaux.

They became known as the Cockleshell Heroes.

This picture shows them stowing their canoes through the torpedo hatch of a submarine.
