Been thinking on ways to make drops of water, tears, and spittle on, dripping from, or connected to, a bust or figure.

Any proven techniques, tips, or ideas from the community will be appreciated! ;)

On larger scales I’d go for small applications of gloss acrylic gel, a white goo that dries transparent.

Dripping slime can be done by first attaching (with acrylic gell) a short (or long) stretch of clear stretched sprue, or any other transparent fibrous material, letting that dry, then applying more acrylic gel to form a slimy drip.

Tears on smaller scale I’d use gloss varnish, slightly thinned perhaps.

See pics for some examples.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Adrian - that sure looks like the ticket!! :)

Anyone favor any other approaches? Ideas?

Cody Kwok is a modeler who builds a lot of subjects, from armor to anime and mecha subjects. In a number of his anime figure builds, he used acrylic gel to replicate drops of water on a figure.

Here is one such build:

I have not yet tried this myself, but I may try it on a T-rex build I have in progress, with Rexy stepping onto a wet surface and dripping water from his feet.

I also think of using gel on nylon thread to make a stream of water from a spigot into a basin, but haven't tried it yet.

Prost!
