"Manfred von Richthofen and Moritz"
1/32nd scale resin - 7 parts
Sculpted by Mike Good
Painted by
Model Cellar recently released Manfred von Richthofen and his dog Moritz in 1/32nd scale resin sculpted by the talented Mike Good. The highly detailed figure and dog you will see in the next couple of postings.
Packaged in a small sturdy cardboard box with the painted box art on the label for reference the kit comes in two stapled bags which keeps all the parts intact during shipping. Each bag is then wrapped in bubble wrap to further cushion the resin kit during shipping. The bottom photo shows the kit parts furnished in the bags.
Above you see various views of the detailed head and service cap of Richthofen. The likeness to the actual reference photo is only from the talented hands of Mike Good and the casting abilities of Model Cellar.
Above is the highly detailed and crisp casting of the torso showing the attention to detail Mike is famous for.
Above is the separate cast right and left arms.
The top two photographs show the 3 parts of Moritz, the dog. Usually when other casters do an animal the casting blocks appear at the feet making it hard to remove them without braking one or both of the animals legs. Above you can clearly see there are no casting blocks to be removed and the bottom two photographs show the dog dry-fitted together into a perfect fit.
Conclusion: Outstanding sculpting by Mike Good and casting by Model Cellar make this a Highly recommended Plus kit.
Being cast in resin is a plus for my needs, which are.......
I have to temporarily fix him on a base one year, and again temporarily fix him together with his mount (built by my next bro ) on a base from then onwards
To date we have only done Werner Voss with his Albatros
Next in line is Billy Bishpp with his Neiuport
Manfred, Moritz & the DRI will be next after
Have said it before, but it won't harm anyone to repeat........
This is Mike Good and Model Cellar at their respective best!!!
It is a must have for me. I don't have a ACE in my figure collection of WW 1, so this is definitely the first ACE i gonna paint.
What a great figure.
Thanks Guy for the revieuw.
