The Mass Murder Of Winnenden

On March 11, 2009, around 9:30 a.m., 17-year-old Tim Kretschmer ...

... enters the Albertville secondary school at Winnenden, around 20 kilometers north-east of Stuttgart...:

Kretschmer is a former student...

...who graduated from Albertville School the year before. He has a loaded Beretta 92 pistol...

...as well as boxes and magazines with about 150 rounds of spare ammunition that he stole from his father.

He now enters two classrooms and the chemistry room one after the other and apparently shoots at random the students and teachers present there!

Seven students and one teacher succumbed to their injuries at the site...

...two other students die on the way to the hospital, nine other students and one teacher are injured and taken to clinics.

When Kretschmer sees the police officers arriving after just three minutes, he opens fire on them too (but misses them) and flees the school on foot, killing two other teachers in the corridors.

When he passes by the "Center for Psychiatry"...

... he shoots an employee of the center on the street who is about to enter the building.

Continuing in the direction of the city centre, he forces a car driver who is stopped at a red light to drive him in his car on the federal highway 81 for about 100 kilometers via Tübingen, Nürtingen and the federal highway 313 in the direction of Wendlingen...:

In the meantime, the police have launched a large-scale manhunt for Kretschmer, near Wendlingen am Neckar the car runs into a police roadblock and the driver is able to escape after braking.

Kretschmer flees on foot to the Wert industrial area...:

There he enters a car dealership at around 12:15 p.m....

...and kills a 46-year-old customer and a 36-year-old employee after they were not provided with a car as requested.

Then Kretschmer leaves the car dealership, shoots at a passing car and opens fire on arriving police officers.

In a subsequent exchange of fire, the 17-year-old was shot in both legs.

He drags himself back into the sales room of the car dealership and fires through the window several times at police officers...:

He then leaves the car dealership through the back exit and walks onto a neighboring company site...:

From there he fired several times at a passing civilian police vehicle, seriously injuring two police officers.

At around 1:00 p.m., Kretschmer shot himself in the head.

In total, he fired 112 shots in what became known as the "Winnenden rampage," killing 15 people and injuring 11 others, some seriously.

Why? No answere...
