Sculpted by Yury Serevryakov
Painted by Lee Sang Eon
10 parts

1305.jpg

Seil Miniatures has brought another beautiful sculpture by the talented Yury Serevryakov into a 75mm, 10 part white metal kit. Packaged in the standard black box with a color slip cover the figure parts are sandwiched between foam for protection.

Historical Note:

The Marcomannic Wars (called by the Romans bellum Germanicum or expeditio Germanica) were a series of wars lasting over dozen years from about AD 166 until 180. These pitted the Roman Empire against the Marcomanni, Quadi and other Germanic peoples along both sides of the upper and middle Danube. The struggle against the Germanic invasions occupied the major part of the reign of Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, and it was during his campaigns against them that he started writing his philosophical work Meditations, whose first book bears the note "Among the Quadi at the Granua".

Above you see a self photo of Yury super imposed over the original master sculpting. Quite a resemblance......don't you think.

Conclusion:

An excellent figure with some of the best detail I have seen on a figure of this period. Very little flashing and seam lines. I had to look several times on the upper torso / head to find and seam line. Excellent casting by Seil
