hi,
this my latest completed version of Sebastien le Prestre, well known french politician who built many fortresses during the late XVII century.
The casting being rather poor, all the front robe was sanded down in order to paint the patterns freehanded in "trompe l'oeil" style.

the staircase was scratched in order to make it look like a marble staicase.
As usual the fig was oil painted, and the staircase was painted with acrylics.

I was very pleased to win a silver medal in the Sèvres (Paris) show held this week end.

Hope you like it...

What a beautiful piece Marc and congratulations on a well deserved medal. A perfect demonstration of what can be done with oils (y)

Pity the casting wasn't up to scratch-seems to be a feature of some Alexandros models, I disposed of a complete set of the Musketeers for the same reason. Pity because the sculpting is first class.

You have done a fabulous job on this and the medal is well deserved.

High quality painting, amazing freehand artistry and an excellent staircase that makes me think that real marbles
are not so real comparing yours...(y). Your talent makes this figure exceptional from every aspect.
