16 white metal parts

Pegaso Models has released recently another classic bust I am sure we will see many times at the world shows over the next few years. I was surprised when it arrived that the bust is cast in white metal as Pegaso has it advertised as resin.

Arriving in Pegaso's hard to open sturdy box with shredded paper protecting all parts. The individual parts were in several sealed baggies as shown above.

Victor Konnov has captured the arrogance of an Maya Priest in the facial expression and as you can see part of the decoration is sculpted right to the nose.

Above are photos of the front and rear of the bust showing the attention to detail Victor Konnov has given the ornamentation.

Conclusion:
One of the best detailed bust I have seen released in 2008. Expert casting in white metal. Highly recommended.

Very nice review Guy, I have to agree that the casting and detail on this is outstanding.
When I ordered mine I thought it was in resin as described on the Pegaso web site?
Cheers

Thanks for the review Guy. I have to agree, it's a very impressive bust, all the more so because its in white metal. It must be heavy. The details in the head dress and the body ornaments are a painter's delight, and the scarification tatoos on the skin are an interesting addition.

Well, I had a painting day at the house here today and when I do that I always grab a movie from the shelf that serves as an inspiration, you know something historical. So today it just so happened to be Apocalypto! Well, not so coincidentally as I wanted to take a nice look at this guy on screen one more time. Santa was kind enough to bring me this as a gift this year and I was excited to get that movie cued back up and see if I could get a good look at this guys details again! Great film, great review and great bust! I wish I could jump right on it, soon I hope! OOOHHHH......wait, there's an eclipse, "good omen" gotta go!
