Approx 1:9 scale bust, nicely sculpted and well cast with lots of detail... and an owl! Almost no clean up required, just the insignificant remains of the sprue on the sword and shield.

Very nice indeed, reminds me a bit of those excellent elven warriors Tom Meier did for Dark Sword Miniatures...I only have two so far and they sadly don't have owls.

Nice start Rick, unlike you I'd rather do this in 28mm, going to enjoy watching your progress.

I debated what color the elf's armor should be. I wanted it to be different from human armor, steel, etc. Originally I painted it a metallic blue but it looked too fairy tale-ish for a mercenary elf, then settled on a combination of Vallejo's brass and tinny tin.

Good colour choice I think, more earthy. Depending on the lore of some fantasy works elves and the fae folk can't bear the touch of iron.

Hi Rick

Looks good to me , like the colour variations you’ve got there ...going for leather scales ( I hope ...or I need glasses ) do you paint straight onto resin rather than using a primer ?

Nice work on the helmet as well

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun at the bench

Hey Kev
Thanks for the comments. I am trying for a leather look, a couple of different shades of brown, Vallejo's leather brown, burnt sienna and red brown, randomly placed with some highlighting to simulate wear. Btw do you know what color an elven cloak is? (Me neither.) Onward!

Hi Rick

Come on ....where your research ......A8566E76-BC6E-48DF-BAD4-B378748CBCD0.png

Something to contrast with the leather armour but nothing too bright

Perhaps a chance to get some textures on it as well ...maybe add a patch .........or 2 !

He's incorrigible, looks good I like the toned down colours you're using rather than the blingy high elf types!

Cheers Simon
