Hi,

I have a small problem.
After making an undercoat with acrylic Burnt Umber+Black, I painted the base with Stormtropers gold printer's ink + a bit of raw umber(oil), then first highlight Stormtropers gold printer's ink, and then second highlight Stormtropers gold printer's ink + a bit of Stormtropers silver printer's ink.

But some how I still have a very dark gold tone as you can see from the picture.

How can I overcome this.

The figure is an Indian Officer of Cureton's Multanis late XIX century from F.M. Beneito.

Thanks,
Paulo

Paulo, I also like the way it turned out, as Keith said, just a little touch of silver, very sparingly, should do the trick.

Cheers

My suggestion is to mix with the print ink some yellowish oil colour.
Usually I highlights my gold tissue in a mix of gold and yellow chrome until the pure yellow chrome.
I use this mix for oak leaves in officer uniform of the Napoleonic period. Only for a tissue gold not for a metallic ( button, buckle) where the metallic remain pure.

If you want to have a look of this search Daniel Ipperti site there is a very good article on this subject

Good work

Ivo
