New to the site. Can anyone tell me what the process is for getting a few pieces entered into the competition at the 2005 MFCA in Pennsylvania? I consider myself a novice, at best. Thank you for your help.

Brian

Welcome to the planet Brian. All you have to do is take your figures to the show and register them into the competition. You will enjoy this show as many others have.

If anyone has the exact date, please post them. I had entered this info into the Calendar of the new forum and it was lost before I could retrieve it.

O.K. Pat,

Is this PFigure tag one of your yokes, or is it for real. Guy, feel free to step in here,
is the Planet thinking of a tag for shows indicating or membership or has Pat
taken flight, again. Pat, if I paint PFigure accross my forhead in the mirror,
which way do I go, left or right?

Loren

Hi Loren,

There WAS a pF nametag generator for Atlanta. I think it was a victim of the old/new world migration. I believe Quang did the programming. I printed a few tags off for myself, and I'm glad I did.

If you intend to do the forehead thing, remember the mirror is backwards, so either go right to left or get good and drunk before attemtping the manouver. Hey, let's find a breakfast buffet with Memossas and I'll give you a hand!

Didja survive your birthday?

Brian to answer your question, the dates are stated above. Just take your figures to the registration table and fill out the paperwork. Keep a copy for yourself and turn the other ones back in. If this is your first show there are a few items you need to bring like Super Glue in case your stuff gets damaged in transit, an extra pen for the paperwork etc....

Brian,

Don't sell yourself short. My advice is to walk the display area before registering. Take a look at the work and then compare your stuff to it in your mind. Remember it's not a competition so it doesn't matter.

In any case, much of the time if you enter in novice and the judges think you are much better they will either hunt you down and tell you to move it, or move it for you to general.

Good luck.

Lou

You are correct, Brian. The show starts at noon on Friday and ends on Saturday about 4pm.

Usually there are social events that you will want to attend, so most people go back sometime on Sunday. If you are local, this may not be an issue for you.

Hope to see you and your work there. I would encourage to display your efforts. This show is not just about awards, its about sharing with fellow artists and interested fans.

Hi Pat,

Ya, I made it through the birthday deal, with a bad cold I felt more like 85 rather than 55.
I think the PF tag is a great idea. I'd love to be able to spot some of the members. As
for the forehead thing, it really is to complicated for me, I'm still trying to master oils.
