Hi Folks
This is a commission piece I have been working on for my German customer for the past few weeks on and off. Its Young Miniatures MG42 Machine gunner, 200mm Bust.

Still a way to go yet but happy with the results so Far. The MG42 is near completion and has been a challenge to build.

Sorry about the dark photos, just shot on my workbench with no backdrop or proper angled lighting, will post more on completion.

All painted in Vallejo and Reaper Acrylic’s, the reaper paint are the real business for skin tones.

Big thanks to Mark Benette (Gothickgeek) for all his help and advice in the early stages of painting.(y)

Any comments most welcome.

Cheers
Tommi

Excellent Tommi, love the cammo, spot on. You could have gone with the grey and been different but italian cammo is so fashionable at present.

Welcome to the dark side of the hobby :lol::lol::lol:(y)

The field grey is great also.

Great work, would like to know more about the Reaper paints for the skin tones, how about a tutorial? Where do you get them in the UK?

Regards

Neil

This is one of my favourite busts, I love the paintwork, esp. Your work on the Italian camo. This is stunning.
Nice to see you chose the handgun in stead of the cigarette. Keep up the good work!

PS
Remember the SS Runes on the bluse where not metal but made of cloth so in my opinion a matt finish there with more white than silver tones would be appropriate. Cant tell by the dark pictures.

Hi Tommi,
Your customer will be ecstatic when he views this. Probably the best Italian camo I have ever seen painted. What elevates this above the others is the superb distressed and faded pattern along with the spot on cloth tones. Looks like a real cloth jacket. BRAVO - Oh yes the rest is dammed good too.(y)
cheers

Great work Tommy. I like very much the interwoven effect on overcoat and in helmet cover fabric. The uniform is superb, and the leathers too. I have the impression that you´ve darkened a little your tones, or is it the photo?

Hello Eduardo. Thanks for your comments. Yes the paint scheme is fairly dark and worn but also are the poor photos, will take more in the next few days.

Many thanks for your kind words glad your liking it.

LOL yes wish I could master them, taken me twice as long as oils but was unsure about doing the camo in oils so just went all out on the acrylics, there is lots more room for improvement.

Cheers
