Absolutely fantastic.
Not too sure about where the arms are cut but I suppose thats always
a judgement call when its a half torso.
Sculpting and painting both superb

Two colours i love to paint, red and gold so it,s a must have for me and makes a change from all those WW11 busts that keep coming out.

Really nicely done. But the cutoff of the arms and torso is done in a clumsy manner. Some judicious work with a grinder to take off a bit of material would make the piece look more contained and less abrupt. This, coming from a guy who is still trying to figure out the best treatments for cutting off a bust....

Hello everybody,

I have received today this bust and the new bust csar Nicholas II too from Mike Crimer's MichaelMiniatures.
Only what I can said: they are very very awesome and great. :p
Very sharp casting, well fitting parts. (y)
If you want, I can write a review and publish some photos of these busts.:D

Mike, go on to produce these very very nice busts!
Take a look to his website!

(by the way, excuse me for my poor English)

Ben

Thanks for the feedback on the arm length.

I personally feel that when the arms are cut up higher you lose the basic shape of the torso visually (does this make sense?). Another reason is when you have a decorative torso and epaulettes, longer arms can help balance out the all gold (by providing some plain red) otherwise all the trim can easily overpower the piece when its painted.

Anyway I realise its a personal thing, busts are strange and unnatural visually, I just wanted to post my thoughts

regards
