Hello gang. Sorry I've not posted in a while.
This is my latest scratchbuilt effort. A midshipman from the American War of Independance. I engineered the photo to be about as life size as I could get, so you can comment better etc.
Thoroughly enjoyed him.
Please feel free to ask or make comments on anything - I always value your input.
Thanks

Gary I'll get some on for you this afternoon as I'm being dragged out of the house. FAMILIES!!
You know how it is.

Families...love em. You really did a great job of reproducing the art from the Mollo Revolutionary War uniform book. I consider that book to be the official start of my reference library. I bought mine with money I saved up when I was 12-13 years old. ~Gary

Dear Gary, you betray your age mate! Yes, a beautiful book and what a start to have.
As you can see he's in magc sculpt, about 90mm tall and 2 mm deep!
I hope these shots help
any questions or comments please do not hesitate
all the best

Very nicely done Anthony ....Got to ask you don't seem to sculpt on to glass
looking at the pics
or do you have a means of removing it other than by making a mould
and casting

I like this one very much

Frank

Guy and John, nice to be back in the fold again! I hope you're well

Dear Frank, I basically sculpted him onto a thin sheet of clear plastic card and then trimmed that. Even that was harder than it sounds. With glass I found that once it was on there, it was on there. I know there are ways around that though. I haven't abandoned glass completely either. I think I will judge each project on it's own merits.
The technique I use is still in it's infancy and I learn a little each time.
I have ideas for the future, not all are miliary in nature either....
I apreciate the comments/questions as always
