Mike will always be remembered as one in the highest step of the pedestal.

I'm pretty sure, 500 years from now, people will still read his Treatise on the flat figure with the same enthusiasm we had back in the early 90's:

He will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace great man, you were one of the finest ever in this hobby!

RIP mate. The hobby has lost one of the true all times greats.

A really nice bloke as well - which is more important really.

My condolences to all his family and loved ones.

A very sad loss our thoughts are with his family at this time. he was one of the best flat painters I ever saw, and had the privilege of talking to him quite a few times at Euro over the years and his flats were always a joy to look at and admire. he will be greatly missed

Brilliant Painter and let's give thanks that he took the trouble to write the seminal book on the Art of Flat Figure Painting.

Sad loss indeed

A huge loss to his family and to us as admirers of his work. When I saw him at Euro this year, he was quite frail, but very alert, and refused my offer of an arm to lean on as he made his way from the competition rooms and up those steep stairs. As has been said, always the complete gentleman, and a fine artist.

Not a lot more to be said, a friend to most that know him and a great inspiration to the flat painter and always ready to have a laugh.
