Probably the first IMO Rog but either would do at a pinch the second is possibly a bit later on armour wise

Yeah that is odd and you would assume the stone carver was told exactly what he was supposed to do, that said there were all sorts of charges etc that were used on shields to convey exactly what the persons family rank was but usually that's just one band etc, interesting stuff it maybe the wiki is the later heraldry and the tomb shows his actual armorial bearings at the time
