Hey folks it's time for another Tutorial!
This time I will show you how to make miniature cans.
Feel free to Comment,Like & Share!
What you need:
-aluminum BBQ pan
-wood stick
-a scissor
-super glue
-tap water / activator-spray
Step 1
Cut stripes out of the pan. The size you need depends on the scale you looking for.
In this case i cut out stripes of 0,5 cm height and various lengths.
Step 2
Grab your small wooden stick (the diameter of the stick will be the diameter of your can!) And wrap it tightly around it. After the first mm are rolled in place some super glue on it, roll the "gluey" part also tightly on.
If you have a lot of time let it dry otherwise use activation spray or water (water will cause the glue to instantly dry BUT it will look strange...here no problem because it also adds instant textures ; ) )
Cut away the left over.
Step 2a
This is how it should look right now
Step 3
Next to create the curved bottom of the can. Therefore we grab another piece of the aluminium pen and poke a little "dimple" with the end of a brush in it.
It may help to circle the brush a bit to improve the curved look.
Step 3a
This is the side we need
Step 4
Turn the "dimple" piece you made around and place some glue on the bump, place the can on it and add a bit more glue from top in the can!(yes more super glue! Trust me the reason for the heavy use of glue will be explained later! ) Use again activator-spray or water for instant drying(this time recommended! )
Step 4a
So here is the problem. Because aluminum and super glue are no good friends the bonding will be very weak. That will mean if you try now to cut away the rest of the bottom it will most likely fall of!
But if you used enough super glue, the instant drying we have done should have created a hard "Glue bottom"!
Alternative you could also use some greenstuff/milliput to create curved can bottoms. But this is fast an good enough as long as you not enter big competitions with it.
Step 5
Next repeat step 4 but this time without the bump (for example coke cans only have a curved bottom)
If you want to have them in mint condition your are done.
If you want to use them as junk...
Step 6
...than destroy them! „wink“-Emoticon
use the back side of your hobby knife to "bend"it like that.
You can also hit it with a hammer to let it look like a car run over it.
Or add extra details to it with cutting out a bottom section and place on top of it like an opend food can.
Play with it and be creative
