Nice figure ........

But i want the 1/32nd figure coming out later and i'm hoping Mike does a bust of this one it has alot of character

RE;werner

Another superb figure from you Mike!!!!:)
Does it get boring up there on Olympus mate!!!!
Truely brilliant again!:)

Mike DID do an amazing job - he is a fantastic sculptor.

However, I would also like to give credit to Young Won who painted the example you see above. Considering: the entire figure stands only a mere 1.2 inches tall, the face is a fraction of the size of pencil eraser, and the Pour le Merite around his neck is the size of a pinhead - HE did an amazing job too! Let's give Young Won a round of applause!!

Regards,
Paul

Eatin' peeled grapes and chuggin' ambrosia....

Thanks everybody! I would liike to thank my optivisor for all of it's support. I truly could not have done this without it......

Pete, it never gets boring on Olympus!

Cheers!!

Mike

Doug:

Are you saying that this piece IS coming out in 1/32 also? I'm currently finishing off Mike's WW2 Japanese pilot. It has been an absolute pleasure to paint and I can see this one reardless of scale would be the same.

The big and little of it......

Yep! I have just stated painting the 54mm version. Paul, crazy dude that he is, decided after i finished the 1/48 scale version that he wanted one in 1/32 as well. This, to go with the superb 1/32 scale Fokker Triplane kit from Roden (the Fokker F.I kit is the one with Voss' markings).

So, modelers have the same figure in both scales to display with their models or just paint on their own.

Now, back to those god babes and my cuppa ambrosia.......

Mike, this hands in pockets pose intrigues me. Specifically, how do you decide on the mass for the portion of the tunic that drapes over the forearms? Is all of the "skirt" portion of the tunic a rolled sheet?

Pocket pool.......

Mike, this hands in pockets pose intrigues me. Specifically, how do you decide on the mass for the portion of the tunic that drapes over the forearms? Is all of the "skirt" portion of the tunic a rolled sheet?

In this case I worked from a photo.

The skirt of the tunic was just sculpted from lump of putty using the reference photo. The photo was the key here. However, you will notice that the "volume" differs a bit between the two figures. The fact is, I got the hips too narrow on the larger figure. Whoops!! I did not notice this until the arms were on the figure (they MUST be done before the skirt of the tunic in this case) and it was too late to go back and fix it without redoing the whole bloody thing.

I wrote this one off to "learning". When this low paying work is done to pay the rent, sometimes "fixing" your errors is not a paying proposition. I felt, in this case, that it was not a big enough problem that it compromised the figure more than I was willing to go......

Mike, (eatin' crow instead of peeeled grapes, but it sure goes down well with Ambrosia!)

re: excellent

I totally agree about the painting!:)
As one who paints 'as bad as a big bag of bad painting things', I can admire pure skill and talent when I see it!:)
Well done!!!!!:)
Mike, can you lend me a tenner?:)
Pete

re:tenner

Good job it wasn't a 20 then:)
The Battery hen is taking shape, but I changed it to a Pixie, just to ring some changes:) :) :)
Seriously, and on a different note- it will be good to see you at Euro if you come over, along with all of the other 'usual suspects' (they know who they are!)
