"Werner Voss"
1/12th scale resin bust
Sculpted by Mike Good
Painted by Tim Farrell

Vossbust1 cropped.jpg

This is the newest 1/12 bust in the "Knights of the Air" collectors series. As usual, Mike has captured the likeness of this WWI German Ace perfectly. Uniform detail is clean, crisp and accurate, from the Pour le Merite around his neck, right down to the buttons of his tunic.

Done in 1/12 scale, Voss joins our own Raoul Lufbery and Francesco Baracca in extending the series started with the 1/12 scale busts of Richthofen, Rickenbacker, Udet, and Goerth included in the 1/48 DML kits in the early 90's.

Nice work as usual Mike! Are we going to see a re-release of the original busts that were in the DML kits? I constantly stalk eBay for a copy but constantly get outbid. It would be fantastic to be able to purchase those as individual pieces. It would make for an impressive vignette for sure!

Excellent work...!
Love the wavy subtle wrinkles on the chest.

Well this one is going on my wish list; now if I can only find the busts Mike did in the early '90s ;)

Hi Captn..

You should keep watch on ebay. Those kits appear regularly. The Fokker/Richthofen bust kit usually goes for around $50 US and the others usually between $30 and $50. A strategy to keep in mind: you can always take the bust out and resell the kit for about $20 to defer cost. There are WWI aircraft builders out there who will pay that to get just the kit, sans bust, because they aren't interested in the bust and don't want to pay the premium for something they will never use/paint.

anyway, happy hunting.

...and for everyone else here too:
Thanks for all the nice comments! There are more on the way!!
