I use this for my hobby, thought others might find it useful/interesting

ARTLOGIC Metal turntable
300mm x 135mm height
Manufactured in cast metal with a ball bearing rotatable turntable. Comes with a non slip rubber base for protection of your work
bench. These are very heavy (Cast Metal) over 4kgs
You can get it in other sizes and maybe under a different brand name

Cool thought I might get hammered for posting it.
I had the 30cm one and liked it so much I bought the smaller version as well. At times I tack the Tamiya one to the top to airbrush with as it makes a more stable base

Whatever works for YOU is the right thing to do mate.
thanks for sharing, I am going to see if my art shop has something similar rather than pay Australian postage on
4kg for overseas despatch. :)

It's a cool idea, but if I decided I wanted a turntable, I'd exercise my DIY muscles and build one. Of course, I'd probably never get it finished, like so many other of my DIY projects. Some day I'll learn--just buy the damn' thing!

Prost!

Not really an idea but a useful tool/equipment. For some by the time you cast the metal, buy the bearing and the rubber and have it shaped and balanced properly its just cheaper to buy. That's not including the space and tools to make the thing in the first place.

Did you say modelling turntable? I have sizes ranging from 40 cm to 20 cm. Cast iron, plastic and wooden ones. I find those potter wheel/sculpture ones are just too high for modelling.

Height depends on many things. When airbrushing I find the height better has it helps get lower angles I also like it higher off the work bench. I also find you can rest your arm/hand on it for detailed work. Lower ones also have their place ........
