Need more , better photos. The box art makes the helmet look really odd, more like a bearskin. Head with beret looks ok, certainly the beret has the 80's shape to it, but going by this box art, my wallet stays shut.

I like these and think they have some potential. But not perhaps as good as Mookies Para in 1/12 or their 1/10 RM SBS. Henk is right in that they could probably do with better box art (not that I’m in a position to criticise anyone’s painting ……but then I suppose my paintings not being used to sell figures).
Can I ask please, Richard, are the Gurkha and Para the same bust but with just different heads? Thanks

Hi Fella.Yes the torso is same with different heads.Gurkhas like many from units in the Falklands wore many variations of clothing.68 pattern DPM smocks spring to mind and Winter parka with waistcoat and under trousers in quilted material. The bust is converted from the SBS bust done by Moz in 2017.

I did the Gurkha and thank you Richard for the opportunity to paint your bust .
Sadley there is always a plethora of Arm chair painting generals ready to chip in with words of wisdom from the relative safety of a loaded paint pot
Keep doing what you are doing Richard nice to see small independents making an effort

Well as the vendor im more than happy with the box art work.If anybody else can do better then why not enroll to do box arts.
Rich

O.K.

This post started out with just a photo of the box art of the Para, which is why I only commented on the box art of the Para. You have since changed the title, and added the photos of the other two figures.

If you check my post, you can see that I commented specifically on the box art photo, the angle of which made the helmet look like a bear skin. I notice that you have removed that picture, and replaced it with a beter one from a better angle... maybe you can put the box art picture next to it? I specificially made no comment on the actual figure, because there were no other photos from other angles.

As for the "if you think that you can do better" comments, I have painted done plenty of commission work, but I would never be so big headed to say of myself that I am that good, or better than anybody else. If anybody wants me to paint some thing for them (or photograph..), Im only a PM away.

None of this withstanding, I hope they do well for you.

Thanks Richard, for answering my earlier question.
As I said before, I like these figure and believe they have great potential. A great series as the anniversary draws close.
I have a couple of questions about helmets used by the British forces during that campaign.
Perhaps Chezzie, or Richard can help?
The above figure of the Para is, I think (and please correct me if I’m wrong) wearing the P 76 helmet with Velcro fastening of the left hand side, but had this helmet previously been issued with webbing straps similar to those on the later Mk 2 ww2 helmets (which I also believe was worn in the Falklands)? Please see pics attached.
How was the scrim attached to P76 helmets and was the thick rubber looking band around the bottom edgeI’ve seen in photos just tape added to keep DPM covers, netting and scrim in place?
Did the Marines wear the WW2 vintage MkIII “turtle” helmet like the one depicted on the Gurkha above? It’s hard to find photos of the Marines wearing anything other than their berets but I seem to recall seeing photos of the Marines with Helmets that look like Mk IIIs slung from Bergen’s etc., but once again I could be very wrong!
Thanks in advance for your help Fellas.
Nigel
