Greetings all,
Just joined yesterday and only started dabbling in figures and busts recently, mainly ancients and a few fantasy ones. Mainly done plastic since the early '70's so figure painting is still a bit of a 'dark art' for me. Hopefully I won't have too many 'Henry Hoover' eyes on my attempts but at least they'll provide some amusement. Not sure I'll ever emulate some of the superb builds on here but at least I enjoy the 'expressive freedom' you can get with figures.

Evening/morning/appropriate time zone Rick,
I'm almost at the point of starting my first WIP. Some of my previous figures and busts can be seen on 'All Scale Modeller.' previously known as 'Brexitmodeller.' I use the moniker of Skwonk on that site. If you type in Runolf Ragnarsson in a search engine beginning with G and ending in oogle you'll see the latest figure I did.
Cheers,
Darby

Morning Nap,
I've been having a root around the site and you're right, there's loads to see and learn from. I may even dig out my Duke of Wellington or Skinner's Horse bust one day if I'm feeling brave enough. I did a bit of gap, bubble hole and sword straightening on the latter but got the dreaded 'modeller's block' so put them back in the cupboard but the bench is now ready for a fairy figure which is a bit of a departure for me. Last time I painted a female form it took me eight rescrubs before I was relatively content.
And yes, it's all about enjoyment no matter what we do, how we do it and learning along the way.
Cheers,
Darby

Afternoon Mike,
Yep, since 2018. I'm English and still put my cream on first. Now, there's a debate.
