Super Job Roc........my favorite Verlinden. You have done an excellent job with him. Many thanks for posting the pictures. I have one painted as well and have another kit to be used in a vignette.

Thanks Roc

Hey Guy, you are very welcome, posting the pictures was my pleasure.

I would really love to see your version of the Mongol, can you post some pictures?

Cheers,

Roc. :)

Frank, thank you for the nice words of encouragement, I really do appreciate them.

It's great to hear you picked one up at Euro, you will have a lot of fun painting this figure and it does not cost an arm and a leg.

I would very much like too see your version of the Mongol, when you get around to it. ;)

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Roc. :)

Hey Roc , honestly , this figure is not one of my favourites. Nonetheless, you have made a great job of it. In situations like these one proves to be an excellent painter

I managed to pick this one up at
Euromilitair as a show offer from Historex.

Frank, so you did spend that £15 in the end ! ;) Well, I look forward to see your version too .

Roc and Guy, nice work. Wasn't this figure sculpted by Julian Hullis?

Johan, thank you, you are too kind.

I'm not sure who sculpted this figure,Verlinden never divulges the names of the sculpters, it certainly does look like Julian Hullis's work.

Cheers,

Roc. :)

Roc, I once saw the original Mongol "watching the steppes" figure by Julian Hullis at Euromilitaire - it was a great creation and elected best of show that year. It was beautifully painted in faded pastel colours, I believe the coat was pale green or blue.

Frank, so it's the Irresistible Mongol then ! I hope you will put your mongol where he belongs, on the steppe, so here's a tip for some good steppe, prairie or pampa grass :
