I the text I read
"I've never really liked traveling, but I would come to Japan a couple of times a year, to visit Tokyo, Osaka, ride the bullet train, and to check out the technology that was changing the world," said Wozniak.
I'm always amazed by peoples believing that modern technologies came from Japan .To my knowledge they invented nothing but made perfect copies of everything, remember those Japoneses visiting carshows, taking pictures of every parts and bolts of EU/US cars, but their advantages was that a copist in Japan is culturaly recognised as a full artist . All revolution in electronic, and mechanic came from EU and US but in the 50ies, like China today, it was far cheaper and good investment for the sacrosaint shareholders . They have very few patent when compared to EU/US .
I remember at the beginig of the CD, visiting a big store in Brussels where I was invited by the manager to follow a discussion were Japanese engineer were speaking about CD and Laser Disc technology . LOL . By the way developed in Belgium in the big P factory of Louvain .
So please forget the " Japan bringing technologies to the world" it was and still is a "Marketing Fairy Tale"
