I received this kit last week and am now just getting the time to post a review. The figure depicts a trooper of the I CO, 20th Massachusetts. The figure was inspired by Don Troiani’s painting Fire on Caroline Street

The kit is supplied with an optional head to depict the figure from CO D, 28th “Irish Brigade”

The figure comes with 16 parts, 14 of which are resin and 2 are cast in white metal. The rifle and strap are cast in white metal. Although the photo does not show both heads, there are 2 heads supplied so the painter can do the optional Irish Brigade. (see above photo )

The long coat is cast in 4 sections and fit right up underneath the belt and upon dry fitting………found to be an excellent fit and with 4 sections, adds realism to the figure.

The main trunk / torso also has the left leg attached with the right leg fitting separately for ease of painting.

The head has lots of detail and character and both are the same except the lettering on top signifying the Regt and Company.

The base supplied with the kit depicts a cobblestone street littered with debris.

Conclusion

An excellent kit from Michael Roberts Ltd keeping with his tradition of quality and casting. Highly recommended for any ACW enthusiast.

This kit is scheduled for official release at MMSI show in Chicago.

Guy, Thanks for the review. Mike did a great job engineering the kit. It's also nice to see a large scale figure for a change.~Gary

Guy,

I noticed the bayonet and cap box are missing. Also note the sprig of boxwood in the cap of the Irish Brigade guy.

I'm painting the box art now and this guy paints up easily. I'll send a pic when finihed.

Mike, your work is hands down some of the best on the market. For my personal tastes, you are my #1 favorite manufacturer. Can't wait to get this kit. As someone else pointed out, nice to see a large scale release from you. Detail, character and pose are super. As always, your engineering of kit is top drawer. Thanks for the release and thanks to Guy for posting it.

Best of Everything, Terry Martin
