I thought I would try to post a picture of the last figure I completed. It is Jaguar's 1/9 figure of Hans Wind, Finnish Pilot. This is also the first model I did completely with acrylics, except for the skin tones which I used oils over acrylic. Any comments are appreciated. I apologize for the darkness of the photo.

Rob, Very nice figure, a Mike Good sculpt I believe. That figure probably all but painted itself.~Gary

Rob, that is a fine figure indeed. Very nice looking and I envy you guys who paint with acrylics in a large scale because I can't! Did you have to go back and blend any of your highlights and shadows?

Thanks guys. The kit was great to build, it was really a nice kit. I didn't do real heavy shadows or highlights, so I didn't do any reblending. Upon closer view, some may think I should have gone heavier, but I don't think the heavy shadows or highlights looked right, probably the scale.

Hi Rob,
I liked this one when you first showed it to me and I still think it looks great.
I agree with you on the shadows and highlights. On a figure this size, excessive contrast doesn't look right.
So, what are you working on lately?
Craig

Hey Craig
Good to hear from you. Unfortunately, I have hit a dry spell and have not been working on anything. I have about 5 or 6 kits started or in various stages, but can't get motivated to continue. That is part of the reason I put this photo in the forem hoping the discussion would get me fired up to finish some of my projects. I am not far from completing a Coree 120mm Patton with Willie. I think I have posted some progress pictures on Armorama several months ago. I am also working (early stages) on the 1/9 DML BMW R75 motorcycle with driver, several 1/8 fantasy kits, and 1/9 Jaguar Tom Hanks from Saving Private Ryan, which is in primer. I am starting to get the itch again so hopefully I will move forward on these projects.

Hello Rob,
I think we all go through these "dry spells" and the motivation seems to lack. I learned along time ago not to force myself to paint just because they are sitting there. That always spelled disaster for me. Over the years I have come to expect certain dry spells and get into something else for awhile.

Good work Rob !

May I suggest a scratch built 1/9 Brewster Buffalo in finnish markings for the base *runs for cover*

Hi Rob,
I think I remember that Patton. I'm looking forward to seeing him done.
As the others said, we all go through dry spells. Mine usually come through the winter and I produce like mad through the summer. The only reason I can think of is that I don't like the heat so I stay inside with the air contitioning :).
Hang in there buddy, it'll come soon enough.
Craig

Hey Rob,

Really nice work. I understand fully on the dry spells. The best thing is just do what you feel like doing. Look on PF, watch a movie or I sometimes just sit at the bench and think how I will paint a figure. Sooner or later it all comes back. :)
