Just one tiny observation. Most officers and soldiers are trained NOT to place their finger on the trigger of their weapon unless they are about to fire. This is obviously intended to avoid UD's (unauthorized discharges) which can result in very messy consequences for the soldier concerned (and anyone standing next to him!!).
When carrying their weapons, most soldiers will extend their trigger finger outside the trigger guard, rather than have it placed on the trigger itself.
