Here is my latest bust.
I saw the attached portrait on Pinterest and wanted to make a bust similar to the painting.

The first photo is of this portrait.

The second photo shows the original bust, a Lakota Sioux by Blackdog miniatures that I painted several years ago.

I purchased another bust and modified it to resemble the portrait.

I redesigned the hair, adding the topknot and the braids.

I then added decorations to the hair. I made the mask out of modeling putty.

All the feathers are 3D printed. I also added a bear claw necklace. I topped it off with a crow.

I think it turned out pretty good.

Hi Mike

Good to see your artwork and clever conversion , like what you've done especially the headwear

Nice painting on both pieces

What's the significance of the eye covering ?

According to Webster a shaman is a priest or priestess who uses magic to heal the sick, devine the future and control events. Many cultures among the American Indian and African tribes contain them. I have seen many photos and paintings of these shamans with their eyes covered. I would assume that it shows they can see things through more than just eyesight.
