The National Capital Model Soldier Society 63rd Annual Washington Show will be happening this September 7, 2024. The show is again being held at the Springfield Hilton, 6550 Loisdale Road, Springfield, VA 22150. Besides having our usual exhibition, there will be modeling demonstrations and raffles throughout the day along with having a great selection of hobby vendors.
As is in the past, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be given according to the “Chicago” or “Open” system. Our 2024 Washington Show’s Commemorative figure from Scale 75 is now available online at https://scale75usa.com/products/82nd-airborne-508-pir. The figure is of 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Harry Hudec, who dropped on D-Day and later was wounded in Normandy. In Sept. he participated in Operation Market Garden.
In coordination with Scale 75, the Army Historical Foundation, and the National Museum of the U.S Army the painting class for the figure will be held at the Museum of the United States Army at Ft. Belvoir, VA and conducted by Scale 75 with World Master Julio Cabos. The dates for the class are August 17 and 18.
