After my last post and advice on painting eyes next, this is what I have come up with. The placement of the eyes seems to be ok, but I think maybe the pupils are too big or the colour is not right. Anyway I need some advice as to what needs to be done to fix them. Any help would be great!

Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

You've made great start mate, but I can see a few problems with the eyes and if you don't mind I'll point them out, and suggest how you can fix them.

1. The left iris appears to be larger in size than the right. The left iris appears too large and should be reduced in size. No easy way to do this except to repaint the eye.

2. The whites of the eyes appear a bit too white and this creates the zombie look. Perhaps you could paint them in an off-white colour and add a tiny drop of blue to the mix. Use the pure white colour for the highlight of the eyeball.

3. Both eyes seem rather "goggle eyed" this is because the lower edge of the eyeball needs to be better defined. I would suggest you add a thin red line to separate the eyeball from the lower eyelid, and then add a line of flesh highlight colour along the edge of the lower eyelid.

4. I would add a dark line under the lip of the upper eyelid to better define the upper edge of the eyeball.

5. The pupil of the left eye doesn't look round. While you are reducing the size of the iris, I suggest you try to reshape the pupil to make it round.

6. The inside corner of each eye needs a touch of red. Not too much, but just enough to suggest red, without dominating.

I really hope this helps mate. Good luck

Thanks guys, both are really helpful. Some of those things I had done like mixing blue with the white for the whites of the eyes and putting red in the corners, but I was very shy on both colours, I'll go a little bolder on the next go. I think the iris colour might be a little unnatural too.
Thanks for the help,
Andrew

Andrew for the "whites" I use Citadel Dheneb stone. Or just add a slight touch of any brown to kill the starkness of the white. Or as Tony says blue.
Good luck,
Carl.
