Hi everyone;

I need a little help with a project I'm just about to start (which means a delay in finishing the other projects I've already started :angry: ).

I just received Pegaso's Rennaisance Kight in 75mm, and wanted to add some backgound elements. The stairs provided with the kit need something! I was thinking of placing a pillar behind him. Something along the lines of a Greek or Roman pillar. I don't want to build an entire castle wall, as I thought that would overpower the figure.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing available in 75mm, or close to it? I spent some time surfing the usual sites like the Sentinal, but they only carry 54mm pillars. I would be most grateful for any help you would care to offer. I would also welcome any other suggestions to help me put this one "overe the top". Thanks all. Cheers.

Glenn

Shortly (end of Oct., begin of Nov.) La Meridiana Miniatures will release some new settings. Amongst them, there is an half (roman style) column which, if I remember correctly, is wide enough to be used on 75mm too (to have a decent height for such scale, you can cut one piece and put it on the top of the other).

Hi Glenn

That Renaissance Knight is some figure, isn't it?

I have found some interesting columns in a local shop specialising in cake decoration. They come in various dimensions and are used for supporting the tiers of wedding cakes. They are fluted or plain, some have square plinths, some round. The ones I bought were made from something akin to plaster of paris, but there are plastic/resin ones too. I don't remember them being very expensive.

Might be worth investigating over there?

Cheers

Phil

Hello again Glenn,
the column size is 50mm (height) x 20mm (diameter) x 28mm (base diameter). I hope to post a picture soon.

Thank you both so much. Luca, I will keep on the look out for that release. In the mean time, I'll check out some of the wedding supply shops around town and see what I can find. Phil, that is a brillaint solution.

A quick update. Stopped by a craft shop on the way home from work, and found some Ionic Style greek columns, about 5 inches tall, 4 to a bag all for the price of $6.00 CDN. To top it all off, it looks fantastic! Thanks again for the tip, this is really going to make the figure shine, so long as I don't screw up the paint job.

Hi Paul;

I picked it up at the local "Michael's" craft superstore. I can't speak for Ontario, but there are quite a few of these mega-craft-stores out here. I can't imagine there not being any in your part of the country. Good Hunting!
