Hi Mark and welcome to the Planet!

Some of us do sell their stuff, some do work on commision while others dont.
For you I think its best to ask or preferably go to one of the major shows in your country talk to the contributors and get your deals that way.

Cheers

hi janne,

thanks for the info ! it still looks like a minefield dont know who to ask where to go ill keep checking through the forum and hopefully some guys in the uk might be able to help me.ill keep a eye pot for shows comming up.

regards

mark.

The best thing is to go to a figure show and ask the modelers directly. At many USA figure shows models for sale are usually displayed with a red dot on the display card.

Hi Mark,

I do both, paint for myself and also for collectors in the US. Some of the figures are commissions and go right to the collector and some I paint for my own collection. I have several collectors meet me at the various shows and some of them make special trips to my home to view my collection. Many figures I painted for myself end up going to a collector's collection.

I also collect other painter's figures and buy one occassionally or commission it to be painted.

You have a major show comming up in 3 weeks in the UK and it would be to your benefit to attend and seek out the painters of figures you like......they may be for sale.

Enjoy your collecting.

I only paint for myself.
Here in the Netherlands we are with at the most 10 guys who painting figures.
So, not to say there are collectors to buy them.
For me, it's great. Nobody is setting the deadline.

Mark, one option is to look at the galleries on this site for pictures of photos "sold on commission", or "in private collection". Finding "the top" painters is easier as stated above either at a show or in the trade mags. If you look at enough of those two sources certain names will become familiar and those are the big boys and girls.--

Hi Mark I see your from the UK , me to , heres two suggestions ,1/ you could go to Eruo Milatar held at Folkstone on the weekend over26-27 Sept. the largest model show in the UK and make inquires as to who sells there finnished kits . 2/ let me know where you live in the UK and then through friends and contacts I could get you details of modellers near you how sell finnish models or do commissions also let us know what period your looking to buy as a lot of painters have favourite periods and only paint certain subjects .

Hi Mark,

Euromilitaire is to be held on the weekend of 19th and 20th Sept. It is a good starting point for you as there are many modellers who would be willing to part with a painted model. It attracts world renowned painters, so you should try to come down for the day or the weekend.
