Hello Planetfigure,
I'm new to this board and am looking to engage the services of an experienced miniature figure sculpture to help re-sculpt and revise otherwise decent resin cast figures. These figures were created a long time back, and were badly cast in resin, resulting in an excessive mid-line seam, making them "too wide" front to back.
We need an artist who can work from copy castings, sanding one side down to match the other from a second casting, or by resculpting from scratch. Arms need to be revised and lengthed as well. The ground rule here is to save the faces, which actually resemble the Disney stars of the movie. The seal is included as too. You also need to be able to sculpt a separate harpoon.
Input is welcomed at our site, and applicants for this paying job will have to work within a $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 budget for these figures. We will incur all molding cost, and test sample cost.
We request a few samples of your work ( .jpgs ), and be able to devote at least weekends and some evenings to this project for an anticipated 6 to 8 week turnaround. We wish to start before the end of Janaury 2006.
Our company Custom Replicas will be making the copy molds and will acquire the copy castings. The patterns will remain our property as this is a "work for hire" arrangement. We can be seen at: http://www.customreplicas.com/Nautilus_Salon.htm
Besides the payment, we will bestow two resin sets of these characters and the artist's creditied name on our website. If you wish to be further involved in our "salon interior project", that can be discussed as well.
Direct all inquiries to Jim Key at [email protected]
Thank you,
Jim Key
