Hi all,

Can anybody out there give me some information on a paint finishing technique. Having been at euro for many years and useing acrilycs. I just wanted to know how such a dusty yet vibrant finish can be achieved, I dont mean a figure covered in Mig Productions dirt dust from a bottle, just the smooth dusty finish that looks so damn good on a figure. is it the fluid used to thin the acrilyc paints, is it a brilliant quality matt varnish or is it the quality of paints being used....????????

Please help

Dave, you can get excellent result with a airbrush. That or you can put the layers on very thin. Start out with dark/greyish earthtones. Work up to pure greshish earthtones on just the highlights.

Hi Jim

Thanks for that, but I have just read what I had writen and I think that maybe it may have been miss read, my lack of information. I see it more and more with all colours, this doesn’t mean that everybody paints thier figures with an airbrush does it. I just dont seem to be able to get the same finish....???

Hi Guys

Here is an example of what I mean, this is beautifully painted and the contrast in the graduations are brilliant and all the colours used to create a solid looking colour but graduated, realy I suppose anything painted by Diego Ruina, looks how I mean....
