Thank you Blind Pew glad you like it.

Steve your right any resemblance is purely coincidental, but it is a very nice face and one which will paint up very well. It’s a great addition to the AWI range and one that is a little different too.

Nice figure, the 71st Foot raised by Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat for service in the AWI. I live in Fraser territory and the Lords of Lovat are still major landowners around the Beauly Firth to the west of Inverness.

This particular incarnation of the 71st Foot was disbanded in 1786, only for the regimental number to re-appear a few years later as the Highland Light Infantry which, despite the name, recruited principally in Glasgow, where the regimental museum is located.

This figure wears trousers rather than the kilt, which was only worn in barracks and not in the field. It looks like this figure wears the standard winter dress issue British army wool trousers, although trews were also work occasionally (made from old kilts), so there might be some scope for all you tartan heads out there (Government sett, as per Black Watch). You might need to add gaiter cuffs if you want to paint trews.

Looks like a must for me. Any chance of a kilted version, maybe an officer or piper?

Richard.

Hi nap, yes the box art will be done by Javier Montero as usual so keep an eye open for it.

Hi Richard, thank you for the potted history of the Frazers. It was interesting and very informative. As for plans for officer and piper we have do much in the pipeline that I wouldn’t like to say at this moment. We are trying to expand the range in different directions but we will keep revisiting the old standards we are better known for.

We do have an Highland clansman that we will be releasing in late October which will please the Tartan artists out their. So keep an eye open for that one too.
