Great duo Taesung. Nice to see some original early war subjects. A must buy for me.

Take care,

Gino

Perfect for the new Tamiya Somua!

Hopefully the armor model manufacturers will gives us some more French vehicles so Taesung can provide the crews!

Another beautiful little set Taesung (y)!

Joe

Thank you for this information and that thread.
ALPINE Welcome to the world of the model "secondary" nations (after the Italians).
I love this brand, whose figures are among the best on the market, painting boxart is a reference for our hobby.
But one big downside to this brand; almost no commercial risk.
French These figures are proof. Tamiya just credit us with her third French armored with Somua S35, these figurines will use the temporary craze this tank.
Then Alpine, will return to those classic Waffen SS or soldiers of the Heer (with a low GI and British, I admit).
when taken in a true commercial risk, when soldiers of the Great War, Vietnam, the Korean War, the Arab-Israeli Wars (Israeli paratroopers); or if they want to remain in the Second World War, aircraft pilots, Japanese, Polish, French (not the classic chariot drivers repeatedly seen), Belgians, they can even stay with their German classics, but make sailors, soldiers of the flak, riders, etc ..
Some other 1/35° Figurines brands do not hesitate to go off the beaten paths (Stalingrad, Mantis, Italian Kits, Tahk, Evolution ....) !!!
All this to express my slight despite seeing this fantastic brand is locked into a circle that could harm him, like Jaguar and Warriors in their time.
A great admirer of Alpine, a fan of figurines, disappointed by a trade policy, a policy which has seen disappear too much quality brands of figurines.

Thanks for the comments, guys! :)

Zastrow, I get your point. But I think you are forgetting so many other companies that had come and gone making all those figures of the "secondary" nations in the past.

I rather have good quality classic subject figures then bad quality original subjects. Most of the brands Zastrow mentioned above are based in East Europe where live and labour forces are much lower then here in the west. so it's much easier to take a risk if you a&sk me. After all, they are charging the same amount of money for a product to cost less to produce. So I would say to Taesung to keep on doing his thing if this helps to pay the bills. And should you find one day that it's time to take a risk you still can do it. Afterall, it's your company and you have to run it like it feels good to you.

Take care,

Gino

In the History of WWII, first you have the "Big" nations,, in order of entry, Germany, UK, USRR and USA considering the Eastern front, with the Pacific you can add Japan and China.
"Secondary" nations is determined by the size or duration of their engagement in this war, so we have, and this is not an exhaustive list. :
France, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Benelux, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Greece, Canada, Aust and I'm not talking about countries such as Iraq and Iran, neither of south america countries.
That's a lot of small countries.
I checked the ALPINE catalog, thank you Google, and I do not think I saw half of these countries (only around 4 references for 200 catalog references)
My criticism was perhaps harsh, but I only allows me to criticize trade policy, also as with idea and hope that a brand like ALPINE, will soon provide us with figures of these countries, figurines and other modern conflicts (XXth & XX centuries). But if this is not the case, this will not prevent me from buying figurines of this brand as I love them for their quality of sculpture and casting.
In conclusion, long live one of the most prolific brand quality figurines.
Luc

Anyway the French are born moaners and know only criticize.
Ask our President Francois Hollande.

You're right, but my criticism comes from someone who really appreciates the work done by this brand.
In French we say "Qui aime bien, hatie bien !", i really don't find a translation for that.
However, small disagree with you, it's not only marks of the eastern countries how takes risks, I forgot to mention, Tommy's War, Allarmi, Ultracast, Swash Design, Yoschi, Taischo and many others ...
And not a brand of the Eastern Countries (except some of the far east).
And do not forget that i'm French so as a froggi, I know only grumbling, criticize and I'm never happy with what I am fortunate to have!

Hello Zastrow,

These are indeed non Eastern European country, but then they all have (except I'm mistaking) a second source of income : vehicles and accessoiries & update kit. So they can get an income from one of these source while taking a risk in the figure branch. Maybe I'm now looking to this too much as an economist, which I have studied, instead of a modeller, but still all these factors have their importance.

I count myself to be very happy with all I have and don't look at the things I don't have. A very relaxing way of living I can tell you. Also on the modelling front : when I did competition and so there was always some kind of pressure. Now I paint just for fun and myself and I have rediscover pleasure in the hobby again. I still try to do the best I can (I know my best is much lower than what others consider their normal) and I don't compare anymore with anyone's else work. I do admire others work but don't envy it anymore.

Cheers and I hope there will be lots more fo great figures to buy for both you, me and everybody out there, no matter the brand,

Gino

Nice figures Taesung
Just to show another view, I wont be buying these figure .....they are great
But I only really buy German and U.S WWII figures and my favourite are Germans in winter gear. My next bought figures are modern U.S figures...................................then scifi
So keep making your great German winter and U.S figures and I will keep buying them.
Alpine and Evolution figures are nearly all I buy now because the German stuff is outstanding
Also alpine is one of the best doing 1/16 figures these days as well..............................keep doing what your doing, I wont let you stop!!!!!
:) :)

Also nice to see your figure box art painted by a Aussie :)

The guy with the scarf is on the list.

About the "secondary" nations, I would like a lot a 1/16 hungarian by Alpine.

Ok- Taesung go for the unknown German pilot - I know it is "another German" but he seems to have earned the knights cross with swords and oakleaves - he will sell for sure;).
About diversity - it`s nice to have the many Eastern European subjects released from Tank, Stalingrad etc. and if they release WW 2- red army or modern green men and special forces they should have quite a demand within their own homecountry. Still they go for German subjects as well - guess why.
What I like about these companies mentioned by Zastrow/Luc is their idea to produce groups of interacting soldiers. An "Alpine-Squad" dismounting from a Sdkfz 251 would be a real treat! Maybe as a special release for your next anniversary Taesung?
Cheers, Martin

Taesung Harmms
That would be my only gripe as well. I don't get enough of your figures. I would also like more group set types. 4-5 that interact ..............like the Evolution sets of winter Germans. Not that they have to be sold as a set but just made to go together as a set ...if you know what I mean. Like the Dragon 1/35 box sets :)
