Hello,

This is my first time at planetFigure.

I'm glad to write a little review of a new bust produced by http://www.michaelminiatures.com
Mexican Emperor Maximilian Imperial Palace Guard Officer 1865-1867
1/10 scale resin bust.

My english is not so good. I hope that the posted photos saying enough. The bust is sculpted by Paul Deheleanu and painted by myself. The casting is very nice and contents 5 parts: 1 body and 4 (very) little parts.

I hope we have a nice time at planetFigure.
Thanks, and let me know your comments!

Ben

What a beautiful piece! At the top of my wish list for sure. Thanks for posting, and the reference photos are invaluable. I'm saving those for later!

Mexican Bust

Hi Ben,
Welcome indeed to the planet , thanks for posting the pics I have seen this on Michael Roberts site , its a cracker , especially the snake and eagle really fine casting , great details on the helmet as well .
Great references you have provided , I have a question regarding the lace on the jacket , it looks quite flat , is it like this on the original jacket ...when I paint this I will probably not use metallics but use the method described in Historical Miniatures magazine No 54 page 4 (by Lou Masses) .
Do you paint in oils or acrylics or enamels ? ...like the eyes and the beard nicely done .
For those in UK this is due to be distributed by Steve Kirtley from skminiatures and he should be getting them soon . (www.skminiatures.co.uk)

Keep posting Ben

Hi Ben,

Welcome to Planet Figure, and congratulations on such a superbly sculpted bust. It is a true work of art. I enjoyed looking at the SBS pics as it was being sculpted and the finished piece is superb.

Hello napoleonpeart,

Thanks for all the comments.
The silver lace on his jacket is quite flat. It is more a "painting guide".
I had painted the bust with Humbrol enamels and the helmet with silver and gold from Hobby line.
