Matt, It's a great reference for both the painter and sculptor. I think this book will become of the "must have" type references. When you think of Confederate jackets you think of frock coats and "shell jackets". The latter consists of several types of jackets that were worn in either one or both the Eastern and Western theaters of the war. ~Gary

Gary, Thanks for the tip on the book. I apprecaite it. I too think it will be a helpful and educational edition to a figure painters library. Now if only someone would do such a book on the Rev. War.

Thanks for this link, I just ordered the book. On the same site, in their "sale" section, I also orderd a book of sketches of Union infantry for only a $1!
There was also a book on Civil War carbines for $2.
