Thanks for your comments much appreciated.

Roger 1/9th is approx 200mm yes. Yes i painted in with the 49th Div insignia although it was done by freehand so there is a free reign for whatever unit you decide. I also painted the GLOSTER flash (Didn't fancy ROYAL WELSH FUSILIERS with my eyes)

What's happened to Pete's pc, he used to be on planetfigure under the name of 'diamond cutter'? Hope everything's alright with you Pete, you're not living in the woods with a bottle of grog, a small gas stove and some putty are ya? (I'm a little pixie....)
Cheers,
Jon.

Outstanding figure, quite superb. How about a WW1 Tommy in the same scale?

Good luck,

Mike

Great Piece, Very well sculpted and painted and I agree with Mike a WW1 tommy would be great to see.
Cheers
Alan

Thanks for the kind words everyone it is very encouraging. I know that Pete is working on another figure in this scale but i don't think he wants to let the cat out of the bag just yet!

He has actually done another one which i dont think we will release because it is a too limited market. He has done a British Dispatch rider that sits perfectly on the Italeri 1/9th Triumph motorcycle. It is a shame really because he has done a top job with this one.

Petes is not actually living in the woods yet but not far away ...(he'll kick me for that one)

He hopes to be at Euro so perhaps you can quiz him there about the release schedule. We are certainly open to suggestions and will be very careful about what we release as a flop in this scale can be quite costly !

WW1 tommy sounds good i'll run it by him but my guess is he'll baulk at the puttees ....

Thanks anyway

Ian

Hi Ian,
It's a shame to hear the dispatch rider might not make it into production. Those old esci (now italeri) kits were always crying out for some quality figures. I know Dragon added some to the BMW and Krad, but in poly(...something..or..other) and not plastic or resin. Many companies have produced stand alone 1/9th figures, but none that actually interact with the vehicle kits avaliable.

Funnily enough I had toyed with having a bash at sculpting a 1/9th MP for the Triumph as there was no figure avaliable. To hear that someone of Pete's ability has just completed one...oh boy, oh boy you have to release this...please, please with egg on top!!

I know that the current oil prices have seriously affected the price of silicon rubber and resin, and I dread to think of the amount and cost of rubber used in a 1/9th figure mould (althougth out of interest I would like to know, £300? higher or lower?).

The old esci moulds have been in production on and off for (over?) 30 odd years now, and will be around for a long time to come. While the kits are avaliable I'm sure there will be a demand for figures that interact with them.

I think it would be a winner!
Cheers,
Jon.

Awesome figure, and about time too! I'm glad there's someone out there producing WWII figures that aren't portraying members of one SS division or another. A bit larger scale than what I usually work in, but I may have to make an exception to that rule in this case.
