Greetings,
My St. Petersburg, Russia sculptor is progressing very well with completion of figures of the 1st Texas Brigade at Antietam (Sharpsburg), for Parts 2 and 3 of this multi figure scene. I expect to release the next set this summer.
I have contracted with him for more projects, since I have had good success with the original Stonewall Jackson vignette, as well as this First Texas Brigade project.
Since he is from Russia, and not very familiar with American history, his own input for new new figures is good for only posing, anatomy, etc....not good for American history suggestions.
I am looking for any suggestions from the pF community, for any 54-mm scale American historical figures. I would like to keep future releases related to my own business speciality which is Civil War, or anything before WW2.
There is such a wide variety these days of figures available from an ever-growing large list of manufacturers, that it is hard to be creative and original.
I could get a new single figure release sculpted by him for release sometime in 2005 (he is working on other projects for me that will keep him busy for about a year).
Any suggestions or ideas for any historical figures from American history you'd like to see?
Regards,
John McNenney

Hi John,

Off the top of my head, I would love to see the following, all ACW: civilians (either in a group or single figures), walking wounded (same), Invalid Corps and as far as a new vignette/dio, something Gettysburg related (I'll give it more thought and be more specific). ;) Oh and some Mexican War figures might be nice.

hello,
I am sure there is a plenty of American fightingman figurines you could introduce us to.
I like the cavalry so if you can do mounted figures E.g. - Pulaski and his legion cavalry, 1783 to war of 1812 Kentucky mounted volunteers, Mad Anthony American Legion infantry and cavalry, war of 1812 dragoons, Buffalo soldiers, post 1879 Army American Indian Cavalry (the attempted regiments for the Army), Pawnee scouts for the Army 1860s, Indian Reservation Police 1877-91, Comancheros, Spanish (colonial) Presido cavalry (with hide armour and without), Californios (pre 1846), Apachee scouts post 1870, Roosevelt San Jacinto boys, 1917 Mexico Pershing cavalry etc, and the Conquistadors of the 16 and 17 th centuries in the southern US: Coronado, de Soto, Onate etc.
they could be dismounted, I suppose. As far as poses - well - Remington old sketchbook and his paintings have many interesting subjects and poses...
