It might be useful to know the name of the Subject? My Russian is a little rusty

Really like the subject though, should paint up into a colourful bust.......depending who it is?

It's Dennis Vasilyeevich Davidov, Keith. He was quite a character, famous for his exploits as a hussar and commander of guerillas during the retreat from Moscow. Also a poet!

Some believe that the character Vasska Denisov in "War and Peace" is modelled on him.
