I am 46 and I used to watch the shorts that Cab did in the 30's on a small local TV station here in LA. Channel 52. They used to show cartoons like Speed Racer and 3 Stooges and little Rascals shots as part of its programing. They would sometimes throw in Cab's shorts as well. So I knew who he was when I was 5. I loved the fact that the "Blues Brothers" gave him a real come back. When I was in college in the early 80's he came and performed at the school. It was great and he was still a wonderful entertainer. I am happy to introduce him to a new audience through our figure.

I remember when I was about 10 Cab was on some TV talk or variety show and I walked in to the room and said "Hey Cab Calloway." My mom looked at me like I had just grown horns and said "How do you know who that is?" I just smiled and shrugged my shoulders. Not sure I ever told her how I knew.
