Hi Guys

After a long time away from sculpting due to my own stupid accident here is the latest release from Sarnia Miniatures - a Sister from the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Nursing Service.

The bust is loosely based on Dame Margo Turner who served in the Far East during WW2, being captured by the Japanese and enduring many years of the harsh POW conditions.

Her story was the inspiration behind the BBC series Tenko.

Available for £20.00 plus postage, from: https://sarnia-miniatures.co.uk/?product=042-queen-alexandras-imperial-military-nursing-service

My version is painted using Vallejo acrylics.

Peter

A fairly formidable looking senior nurse - you would certainly want to follow matron's orders!

Hi Peter

Great to have you back and with working digits as well , a interesting and not often seen subject , a fine tribute to the brave Nursing services

I presume it's a one piece casting looking at the headwear

A colourful subject

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Hi Nap

i agree, it is an unusual subject, but a nice colourful addition. i have some more unusual female subjects on the horizon: a member of the WW2 Land army, a 'Land Girl' and a WRAC band member from the 1950's. Hopefully they will be finished by the end of September.

yes, she is a one piece casting with some quite deep undercuts so I am not sure how long the mold will last!

Regards
Peter
