Hi everyone,

I would just like to introduce myself.

I've been lurking here for sometime looking at the beautiful works that you get on this site and gathering all the info that i can that will help me improve my figures, and thought it was time to finally step up to the plate and register.

I am a keen Military Modeller, doing the main three, Aircraft, Armour and Figures, although my interest in Armour has dropped off a lot and i now mainly stick to Aircraft and Figures.

My main Figure modelling interests are with Modern Military, especially Special Ops Figures, (though there are not that many, but a few companies are now doing them), but i would also love to branch out to other fields as i get more experience, as well as more complex conversions and sculpting.

I would just like to say thank you to all on this site that i have gleaned information from by seaching PF,your knowledge has helped me One Hundred Percent, and i will post my current project as soon as it is done for your opinions.

Thank you,
Jeff.

Welcome, Jeff. A lot of us came from the world of armor and aircraft, and I think you'll find that painting figures will improve your skills in those areas. I also began figures with an affinity for modern subject matter (which is what I do in armor and aircraft), but as soon a I painted a Napoloenic figure with a red uniform, I was hooked! Definately remain open to all eras of figures. The diversity is what keeps things interesting.

Welcome to the planet Jeff..I'm sure you'll find a great deal more info as you get to know your way around...it's always good to see someone taking an extra interest in figures.

All the best...Roy.

Welcome Jeff,
I'm also a former AFV modeller.Since i started painting figure's i'll never touched a tank again.
I'll hope you gonna show something of your work very soon.

Marc

Jeff - Welcome to PF! Enjoy! So - let's see some figures posted! :)

I see from your avatar you've watched some BBC shows. Who is the actor and character on the right? Seeing his face again brings back the 70s and
80s when I was in Britain. I remember his character was a lovable con man type and that he was a terrific comedian with one of the best senses of timing I've ever seen.

All the best,
Dan

Thanks a lot for the welcome fellas...........

i really appreciate it.

Steven, your certainly right about figures improving your over all painting skills. As you know, it comes in handy for painting any items that are portraying fabric or material, such as Ejection seats for Aircraft etc.
Yeah i'm looking forward to doing my first non modern fig such as a Viking by Seil models that Paul Richard completed a little while back, that looked great.
Catch you over at ARC as well mate.

Dan, yeah mate i'm certainly a fan of the British comedies from the 60's and 70's.
The gentleman you asked about is the great "Arthur Daley", played by George Cole in the series called "Minder", which is where my Avatar came from.
Your right, he plays a second hand car salesman,(no offence meant to any second hand car salesman), who gets into all the most shonky scams he can for a quid.
Great show, i have the whole series on DVD.

Anyway thanks again gents for the welcome, and i look forward to posting some work as soon as i can.

Jeff.
