This bust is a study of a typical infantryman on internal security duties in Northern Ireland circa 1979/1980.
The bust has the standard Flak jacket worn by patrols at the time along with beret and* SLR, the standard infantry weapon of the time.
The weapon has the option of two sights, the SUIT(sight unit infantry trilux) or the IWS(individual weapon sight) seldom seen but occasionly used on night patrols, it was unpopular as it was heavy and cumbersome, it also gave out a high pitched tone when switched on and this had a detrimental effect on covert patrols as it could often summon every dog in the area.

The bust has three option of headdress, the first being the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, the second, the Cromwell helmet with visor and the third the Scottish Tam O Shanter.

Photos to Follow shortly.

As my car died :( so had to be replaced I might have to wait a while, still the new to me Audi TT sitting outside is some recompense.

Me Del Me. At last a weapon I can remember and I am sure Maurice will make this one as good as his others,
A slight wait but already a bust to get.

I should have the Weapons in the next day or so, one going on my para bust from the Falklands... :D

Hi Guys,

This souds really good and a choice of 3 heads as well , looking forward to seeing this especially the SLR (happy memories of far too many NI tours).(y)

I will be doing a full review on this release and also Maurices previous one (PIAT gunner) as soon as they drop on my doormat .

Ah, the semi-automatic elephant gun that was the SLR..."Cock, Hook and Look!" Happy days...

Count me in for at least one. This one will sell like hot cakes. I did this 1/16th model so long ago I cannot remember the manufacturer!

" I have no live rounds, empty cases or misfires in my possession Sgt"

Ahh the SLR, Perfectly designed beer bottle opener, If slightly large for the task..they could do with it now with the current SA 80 weapon being out ranged by Taliban Tom and his vintage Musket.

This will bring back memories of Butt maps, loading bays, the cheerful joviality of various gate guards with "targets up" as you hard targeted out of the gate at Cross, Cam cream, COP, QRF, Flak Jackets, INIBAS, burgers any time of the day or night from the Mukka's.
I shall be buying one and it will dedicated to a lot of my friends who never made it back from the various tours that made up our part in the Long War.
