A nice looking figure, but did Plains Indians have pet bald eagles?

Surely this "Plains Indian" is a Dakota Sioux, who spent time living in the Black Hills and Rockies. Well known for their huge ceremonial headdress of Eagle feathers,
Eagles could be found in the Black Hills and I dont think it would be beyond the scope of a young warrior to collect and raise a chick.

Don't know. Guess not.

They did capture Golden Eagles (by hand, from a camouflaged pit in which the warrior waited for the eagle to land within reach, and on top of which some meat was put as bait) to take some of the tail feathers, then released them. Capturing Eagles this way was dangerous as their talons are razor sharp and designed to kill. A Golden eagle can slash the arteries in your wrist or do other serious damage with it's talons and will try to do so if you take the bird by hand. The Sioux way of collecting feathers for their headdress was an act of bravery in itself.
Just wondering. Does this figure have anything like a protection for the wrist ?

North American Indians as well as warriors from round the world (Monguls) captured eagles from chicks in the nest and raised them so the eagle would get used to being fed by his captor. Watched TV the other morning about Harpy Eagles and YES they flew and landed on a persons arm (protected by a glove) One of the people flying a Harpy was a girl so it can be done.
Harpy is reputed to be bigger and stronger than any other eagle so I do believe Pegaso are correct in portraying the warrior with an eagle.
