Its kinda hard to see the figure in its whole scene when you have to scroll back and forth and up and down. Here it is reduced to fit the screen.

I think you are doing in my opinion a very difficult thing. I don't like what i'm gonna say now. The effekt that you want isn't still there. You need more highlight on the left of the figure, and much darkening on the right side. Look at a picture with just one light/flash coming from above left. Believe me, it is more extreme then you think. It is a dark street with one light so it needs to be extreme high and shadowing.
You did the right thing on the wall, why not on the figure.
But i must admit, you are on the right direction.
